Top Things to do while Visiting Paris

Who doesn’t love Paris? There is so much to do and see while you are there. To get most of your visit, it is good to plan out what are the top things to do and see while you are there The city of light as its known is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world due to its rich history and atmosphere of love.

Visit The Eiffel Tower

Eiffel Tower is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the world. Your trip to Paris won’t be complete without seeing the view from the top of the tower. It is highly recommended to buy ski the line tickets if you want to visit the top of the tower. These tickets sell out a couple of months in advance. If you are restricted by the time there are some great places around the tower to take some great photos. There are some great restaurants around the tower also to enjoy its beauty.

The Louvre

The Louvre doesn’t hold the record of the largest and most visited museum in the world for nothing. It is a central landmark of the city and also a historic monument in Paris. It can be found on the Right Bank of the Seine in the city’s 1st arrondissement district or ward. The Louvre can be overwhelming and as travelers, we put terrific pressure on ourselves to see everything at once. You need to buy tickets ahead of time to visit the Louvre. In under 1-2 hours you can see highlights like; Monalisa, Venus de Milo, Winged Victory of Samothrace, and the Egyptian Art collection. Another recommendation I would give is to hire a private guide for 1 to 2 hours so you can get the most of your visit.

Spend some time at the Palais-Royal Gardens Tuileries and enjoy the lush and greenness. There is also the Luxembourg Gardens in the 6th arrondissement. With its lawns, tree-lined promenades, flowerbeds, and model sailboats on its circular basin.

Go On A Food Tour

Tourists can sample several French cuisines by taking a food tour. You get to try out grubs like the French bread, wine, cheese, croissant, and several other mouth-watering delicacies. Secret Food Tours and Paris by Mouth are two of my favorite companies that organize food tours.

Notre-Dame de Paris

The Notre-Dame is an example of French Gothic architecture, and it’s considered to be one of the best. It is at the eastern end of the Île de la Cité. The cathedral has a collection of several Gothic, Baroque sculptures. It also boasts of having 17th to 19th-century altarpieces. Currently undergoing restoration because of the huge fire that hit the cathedral on April 15, 2019. We hope the rehabilitation speeds up to allow us to enjoy its beauty again.

Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen

The Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen is the biggest artifacts, antiques, and second-hand market in the world. It is a vast network of stands with vendors selling vintage fashion, art, furniture, and local relics. Spend your time navigating the Flea markets’ narrow passages. Pry into some more private-looking courtyards, as they contain some of the most impressive pieces.

Understand French Word Flâner

Flâner means “to stroll”. Frankly, the best way to get the whole city experience is to walk around. Enjoy the city’s street-food, sidewalk cafés, and you can even do a bit of window shopping. To prevent wasting hours of standing in line at major tourist sites, make sure you book in advance. Even if you have visited Paris before it’s a great city to visit time & time again.
